monster studies is a real thing: check out my latest essay!

Today’s the day — Horror and Indigeneity: Literature, Film, and Television is now available, and it looks amazing! Not only does the cover feature an image from one of my favorite horror films (Blood Quantum, which you can watch for free here if you want), but editors Murray Leeder and Gary D. Rhodes have assembled a thought-provoking array of essays for readers to peruse. I’m honored to have my essay “Toward an Indigenous Monster Theory: Un/settling Creatures and Decolonizing Horror” included. I’ve always loved the subfield called Monster Studies and am excited to get to contribute to it by geeking out about monster theory in relation to books by Stephen Graham Jones, Andrea L. Rogers, and Daniel H. Wilson.
